a maternity shoot at 10,700 ft—my photoshoot with jenna and luke at sandia crest

This was one of those photoshoots that made me so grateful to live in a place as beautiful as Albuquerque, New Mexico. For this maternity shoot in August 2025 with Jenna and Luke, we discussed a few different options for location—the Sandia foothills, downtown, even Santa Fe. But we settled on Sandia Crest (10,700 ft) because, well, we all love the mountains! I think that, within about 20 minutes of arriving at the Crest for the golden and blue hours, we were certain that we’d made the right choice. The sunset was one of the best I’ve seen, no doubt due to the moody weather that day. We got a mix of intense sunshine, followed by weather approaching a storm—wind and rain mostly. Jenna and Luke did an awesome job braving the conditions, and we all loved how the photos turned out! Here are a few sample images from our shoot.

If you are interested in booking a lifestyle session with me like this one, reach out to me at ben@bensnaps-photo.com! I’d love to work with you! I’m an avid hiker and climber, so there’s really no limit to where we can go for your shoot! Want to elope at a remote alpine lake or on top of a 14er in Colorado?? Let’s make it happen! I’m game for whatever you’re envisioning.
